About KMJ Counselling ...
Confidential
Life can be challenging at times, and sometimes there are moments when talking things through with an impartial trained person can feel especially helpful. I offer a confidential and supportive space where you can speak openly, explore what's affecting you, and begin to make sense of things at your own pace.
Professional
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework and am committed to ongoing professional training and development to ensure my practice remains safe, ethical and effective.
Calm
The therapy room is a calm and relaxed space where we talk openly and honestly. Together, we can work to develop greater self-awareness and understanding, helping you move forward with more confidence and insight.
What I provide ...
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly and honestly about whatever is on your mind – including the parts of you/your experience that may feel complicated, conflicting, or perhaps difficult to put into words. Our work together is held with care and respect, creating space to explore what matters to you and supporting you to feel more grounded as you find ways of living that feel right for you.
I work with individuals who are struggling to work through various life events and experiences, and those who feel confused, lost or emotionally overwhelmed. Some areas of concern that I work with include anxiety, depression, stress and grief.
My integrative training allows flexibility and adaptability, combining elements from multiple psychological theories to create an individual and personalised counselling service with a focus on you and your unique life experience. I tailor each counselling session to your individual needs.
Alongside face-to-face counselling, I also offer remote sessions online or by telephone.
I work from therapy rooms in Farnham and Guildford, and see clients from surrounding areas, including Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.
Online or telephone clients can be based anywhere in the UK.
What happens next ...
Once you’ve completed the Contact Form, I will be in touch to arrange a 20 minute phone call to discuss your needs and to see if we are a suitable match to work together. If we both agree to work together, we will then arrange a day, time and place for our first counselling session. Typically, sessions are held at the same time/place each week. I recommend having weekly sessions to start with, as therapeutic work often benefits from regular, consistent sessions. Frequency of sessions can be discussed and agreed as required.
First session
During the first session, we will go through the working agreement and contract and I will explain my commitment to client confidentiality and data protection, as well as when confidentiality may be breached. You will need to sign the working agreement before we commence therapy.
Cost and payment
Individual Counselling Sessions - £70 for 50 minutes. Payment is due before each session or at the beginning of the month if paying monthly. Details on cancellations can be found in the working agreement and contract.
Our sessions
We will regularly review our work together to look at where the work is going and if we need to revise the focus and direction. There is no set number of sessions. This is something that can be discussed at the initial consultation and revisited along the counselling journey as required.
