About KMJ Counselling ...

I am a warm, friendly and caring person committed to supporting people through difficult times. My aim is to help clients gain insight into their experiences and emotions, so they are able to develop awareness, understanding and a path forward. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centred Therapy, but I also integrate other modalities in my practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA). I work in supporting people with whatever they are facing, including anxiety, bereavement, burnout, depression, family and relationship issues, loss, low self-confidence, panic attacks, stress, suicidal thoughts, and trauma.

Confidential

Life can be challenging at times. I offer a confidential and supportive space where you can speak openly, explore what's affecting you, and begin to make sense of things at your own pace.

Professional

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their ethical framework and am committed to ongoing professional training and development to ensure my practice remains safe, ethical and effective.

Calm

The therapy room is a calm and relaxed space where we talk openly and honestly. Together, we can work to develop greater self-awareness, understanding and insight.

What I provide ...

I offer a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly and honestly about whatever is on your mind – including what might feel complicated, conflicting, or perhaps difficult to put into words. Our work together is held with care and respect, creating space to explore what matters to you.

My integrative training allows flexibility and adaptability, combining elements from multiple psychological theories to create an individual and personalised counselling service with a focus on you and your unique life experience. I tailor each counselling session to your individual needs.

Alongside face-to-face counselling, I also offer remote sessions online.

I work from therapy rooms in Farnham and Basingstoke, and see clients from surrounding areas, including Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey.

Online clients can be based anywhere in the UK.

What happens next ...

Once you’ve completed the form here, I will be in touch to arrange a free 20 minute phone call to discuss your needs and to see if we are a suitable match to work together. If we both agree to work together, we will then arrange a day, time and place for our first counselling session. Typically, sessions are held at the same time/place each week as therapeutic work often benefits from regular, consistent sessions, but we can discuss frequency of sessions during our call to make sure it works for you.

First session

During the first session, we will go through the working agreement and contract and I will explain my commitment to client confidentiality and data protection. The working agreement will need to be signed before we commence therapy.

Cost and payment

Individual Counselling Sessions - £70 for 50 minutes. Payment is due before each session or at the beginning of the month if paying monthly. Details on cancellations can be found in the Working Agreement & Policies section. I have a few concessionary spaces available; please contact me for more details.

Our sessions

We will regularly review our work together to look at where the work is going and if we need to revise the focus and direction. There is no set number of sessions. This is something that can be discussed at the initial consultation and revisited as we go along.
